UFC Veteran Urges Dana White To Let Jon Jones Fight On Historic White House Card Despite Concerns

UFC head Dana White is hesitant to let Jon Jones headline the iconic UFC White House event. White’s concerned because he already gave Jones an opportunity, but Jones didn’t follow through and retired instead. Meanwhile, UFC veteran Daniel Cormier is urging Dana White to let Jon Jones fight on the historic White House card despite these concerns.
Cormier thinks the UFC should let the former heavyweight champion fight on the White House card. The UFC veteran believes that since it’s on American Independence Day, having an American fighter headline just makes sense. In a recent YouTube video, Cormier said:
“[Dana White] seems like he’s not going to back down and allow for [Jon Jones] to be on a White House card… I don’t know If I agree… I would let [Jon Jones] fight. At the end of the day, we’re fighting at the White House, you want American fighters who can win.”

The UFC legend suggested that White should put clauses in Jones’ contract that make it very expensive to back out. But Jones isn’t the only one excited; Conor McGregor is also pumped about the White House event.
Dana White Reveals Jon Jones Said ‘Sorry,’ But Still Won’t Headline The UFC White House Event

Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall was once hyped as a heavyweight superfight, but it never materialized after Jones showed little interest and later retired. Aspinall went on to claim the heavyweight crown, while fans were left disappointed.
Dana White has revealed that Jones apologized for how things played out, but the UFC boss is still cautious about trusting him with a White House headliner.
As soon as the historic White House card was announced, Jones expressed interest in coming out of retirement to headline. But White isn’t convinced, saying in a recent interview: “I need people I can count on for this fight. I know who they are, I know who they are not.”
Fans still dream of seeing Jon Jones added to the card, but the decision ultimately lies with White.
