Anthony Davis’ Latest Comments Show He’s All-In On Leading Mavericks To Championship Glory

Anthony Davis will start fresh with the Dallas Mavericks in the 2025-26 NBA season. After a rough last season, in which he only played nine games due to injuries, the veteran presence is moving forward with a clear goal in mind. The franchise did not give up on him despite his setbacks and is developing a more comprehensive plan for his role.

Davis worked hard this offseason, focusing on his fitness. As Kyrie Irving remains sidelined, he has a bigger responsibility to lead the team as a veteran, and the new additions must step in to complement the team’s overall performance. The team started its preseason with positive momentum, and that should be held in the next season as well.

For his season, Davis looks more determined. The Mavericks’ official account recently shared a post that features Davis, showing more confidence and sharing his clear goal for the upcoming season.  “Same thing as last year, nothing changes for me,” Davis said. “The goal is still to bring a championship here. I’m happy to be here, I’m excited to be here, and I want to win here.”

Davis earned a key role in the Mavericks’ depth after coming in a blockbuster trade from the Los Angeles Lakers.  He couldn’t contribute as expected last year, but the upcoming season will be a golden opportunity to prove his worth in the league.

Anthony Davis Talks About His Eye Injury After A Successful Surgery

Davis had eye surgery and returned strongly in the training camp this offseason. However, he will now wear protective glasses for the rest of his NBA career. The injury occurred in April when teammate Daniel Gafford accidentally collided with him, causing Davis’ eye to be injured by his elbow.

“Eye feels great,” Davis said. “The redness, I have these drops I have to put in my eye, which causes a little redness and stuff. But the vision is back. I’m ready to go. “I think when Gaff elbowed me, it kind of caused some problems in my eye. Then in the summer, I always get a routine checkup. Realized I had to have surgery.”

Davis feels confident and ready to shine on the court again, no matter how hard a phase he has gone through. Luckily, his vision is back, and Davis brings more energy that boosts the team’s confidence for a strong contention.
