Fox Sports Makes Bold Call on Mark Sanchez’s Replacement For Colts-Raiders Game Following His Arrest
On Saturday, the world was deep in prayer after news reports came out that former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez was in critical condition following a stabbing incident in Indianapolis.
Those prayers would soon turn to him being blasted once more information surfaced about his behavior that led to him being stabbed.
Sanchez was in Indianapolis to call Sunday’s Indianapolis Colts game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Now he is being replaced on short notice.
Fox Sports has replaced Mark Sanchez with former Notre Dame football quarterback Brady Quinn. On Saturday, he was just in Ann Arbor, Michigan, for Fox’s “Big Noon Kickoff” broadcast before Wisconsin and Michigan played on the network.
Mark Sanchez Gets Arrested In Hospital
It was announced that 38-year-old Sanchez was in the hospital in stable condition by Fox, and prayers were coming his way from social media.
Not long afterwards, Sanchez had been arrested on allegations of battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, and public intoxication, all misdemeanors.
He was arrested while still at the hospital.
The “physical disturbance” involved two adult males, resulting in one man receiving lacerations and the other “sustaining injuries consistent with stab wounds,” according to the IMPD.
The man reportedly pulled out pepper spray on Sanchez, but when that did not work, he reportedly feared for his life and took out a knife and stabbed Sanchez two or three times.
“The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make the final charging decision,” the latest IMPD statement reads. “An arrest is merely an accusation, and Sanchez should be considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.”
Security footage reportedly showed the interaction, according to the Indy Star.
Mark Sanchez, who was scheduled to call the Indianapolis Colts’ Week 5 home game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, may now have to face the realization that he might be losing his job due to his alleged behavior. Hopefully, he recovers well and has learned his lesson.
