Kendrick Perkins Opens Up On What Truly Ended His Relationship With Russell Westbrook

As a media personality, Kendrick Perkins always remain in the limelight. Recently, he challenged Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard, and now he has come up with his equation with NBA star Russell Westbrook.
Westbrook is now struggling to find a suitable spot for himself in the league. He remains unsigned, and several teams are emerging as a potential landing spot for him. However, Perkins believes that it’s not Westbrook’s choice to sit out and says teams showed little interest.
On the Road Trippin’ podcast, Perkins shared that his friendship with Westbrook ended after he warned that Westbrook could play himself out of the NBA. “About three or four years ago, when he was on the Lakers’ roster, I said on TV — ‘Russ has to be careful. Word around the league is, if he doesn’t temper it down, he might find himself out of the league.’ After that, I got a long paragraph from his wife, Nina. She let me have it,” Perkins said.

With his historic career milestone nearing, Westbrook brings veteran experience and leadership. He played 75 games last season and averaged 13.3 points, 6.1 assists, and 4.9 rebounds. As the NBA postseason is underway, he is one of the biggest names in the league even without a team.
Kendrick Perkins Points Out Milwaukee Bucks’ Weak Point Ahead Of The Season

The Milwaukee Bucks have a big problem heading into the new NBA season. With Damian Lillard gone, they don’t have a solid player at the point guard position to lead the offense.
Perkins believes the Bucks should sign Russell Westbrook. “I think he should be on the Milwaukee Bucks right now, I really do. But the reality is for the first time in probably the last 15 years, Russell Westbrook is not on a roster. Crazy,” Perkins said.
Westbrook’s presence can boost the Bucks’ confidence to push a strong playoff run. It will also complement Giannis Antetokounmpo’s performance. The duo could lead the team to a championship run ahead of the season.
