Los Angeles Clippers’ star player, Kawhi Leonard, has faced a serious problem this NBA offseason due to an under-the-table deal. The controversy started when Pablo Torre reported that the Clippers paid Leonard through a now-bankrupt company called Aspiration to circumvent the salary cap.

One by one, several reports emerged in this scandal, and Torre revealed the involvement of multiple individuals. Moreover, several league officials, including Mark Cuban, jumped into the discussions, making the saga even more intense.

The NBA is currently investigating the situation and has not yet reached a conclusion. Meanwhile, former NBA player Kendrick Perkins considered the NBA investigation a “blessing in disguise” for Leonard.

“There’s so much noise going on about Kawhi Leonard outside the lines and the only way to quiet that noise is by going out there on the floor and preforming at a high level. I believe we’re going to see the best version of Kawhi Leonard and it was a blessing in disguise what’s going on outside the lines because now Kawhi can finally sanctuary inside the lines which is gonna benefit the Clippers,” Perkins said (via ESPN).

Perkins believes the league will see the best version of Kawhi Leonard this season.

Despite facing challenges during the offseason related to the endorsement deal, Leonard returned stronger this season. Unlike last NBA season, he is healthy in the preseason and recently impressed fans with his performance in a game against the Guangzhou Loong-Lions. In a recent interview, Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue reflected on Leonard’s conditioning this season.

“Kawhi looks great. Every drill, every practice, conditioning, body’s in great shape. He feels really good, so hope we can keep it that way,” Tyronn Lue said (via ClutchPoints).

Fans are actively following the updates on the Leonard-Aspiration case and are eager to see him dominating on the court in the regular season.
