At UFC 320, Alex Pereira got his revenge on Magomed Ankalaev and won back the title he lost at UFC 313. Fans said it was his toughest fight because of Ankalaev’s Dagestani wrestling. After the win, Khamzat Chimaev called Pereira out, claiming he still had unfinished business with him. Meanwhile, Beneil Dariush shared his thoughts, saying Chimaev’s wrestling could benefit him if the two ever meet.

Speaking with Helen Yee, Dariush explained that while he respects Pereira, he would prefer to see him end his career with a major fight and a big payday. Dariush added that Chimaev’s wrestling style is unlike Magomed Ankalaev’s, making him a much tougher matchup for the Brazilian.

I don’t want Pereira to get mauled by Khamzat, I’m just being honest. I just want to see Pereira ride off into the sunset with a big fight and a big paycheck. The way Khamzat wrestles is very different from the way Ankalaev wrestles,” Dariush said.

Indeed, a fight between Chimaev and Pereira is something that many fans want to see. However, the Brazilian double champ is already looking ahead and said he wants a superfight with Jon Jones next.

At UFC 320, Pereira took a moment to honor Jones’ late brother, Arthur, asking the audience for a moment of silence. Jones later replied with a short message online praising Pereira. Later, ‘Poatan’ told the UFC broadcast team that he wants a superfight with Jones at the White House and confirmed that it’s the fight he is targeting next.

Chael Sonnen has suggested a possible way that Pereira vs. Jones can become a reality. As per the UFC legend, Jones should fight Pereira at light heavyweight. This way, Pereira’s title would be on the line, and Jones could go back to 205 pounds to try for his old belt. Indeed, it will be interesting if it actually happens.
