Jabari Henley, the brother of Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Daiyan Henley, was killed on Friday night.

According to TMZ, Henley, A.K.A. “Baby Uiie,” was shot after approaching a vehicle outside of a smoke shop in South L.A., with the suspect fleeing the scene immediately after.

Jabari was also the son of Eugene “Big U” Henley, a prominent figure in the rap community and the alleged leader of the Rolling 60s Neighborhood Crips.

He was 34.

“TMZ can confirm via family sources Jabari was shot to death late Friday night. The Los Angeles Police Department tells TMZ … officers were called to the intersection of 69th Street and Figueroa Street just after 11 PM, where the victim — a 34-year-old black male — succumbed to his injuries,” the outlet reports.

“We’re told the victim approached a vehicle and was shot. The suspect — who was stationed outside a smoke shop in South L.A. — fled the scene and has not been identified,” they add.

A video of police attempting to revive Jabari is shown below:

No motive has been revealed.

Daiyan Henley was a third-round pick by the Chargers in 2023 following NCAA stints at Nevada and Washington State.

His father was arrested on RICO charges earlier this year

Eugene was also arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and murder in 2023, with prosecutors accusing him of killing his son’s best friend and former teammate, Rayshawn Williams, over a diss track, something for which he remains on trial.

This latest incident comes less than 48 hours before the Chargers play the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
