Jack Della Maddalena fought five rounds of war against Belal Muhammad to capture the welterweight belt. Right after winning, Islam Makhachev challenged JDM. Now Makhachev aims to snatch that welterweight belt. The Australian fighter believes he’s well-prepared, having previously fought Muhammad. Talking on Spinning Backfist, JDM said:

“Yeah, that’s what I was sort of thinking as well — a grappling-heavy style, different style, but yeah, a good warm-up for sure. Five rounds against a grinding sort of wrestler.”

Demetrious Johnson said this fight is going to be either super interesting or super boring. Fans are just hoping to see thrilling action. But the question remains – what if the Dagestani fighter loses? Will he move back down? Or will he stay in the welterweight division? Time will tell.
