LeBron James has been a towering figure in the NBA. Owing to his incredible skill set, James has established himself as a legend. And even though things are looking a bit tricky for the legend, he has still proved himself worthy.

Only recently, King James surpassed Michael Jordan with a historic feat. Thus, when someone of his stature gets called out by a teammate, things get really riled up. Recently, Lakers teammate DeAndre Ayton delved deep into why calling out and holding James accountable in the locker room is not an easy task.

Ayton said, Not everybody could go up to LeBron James and think they could tell LeBron how to do certain things and, you know, do certain, certain ways. It’s all about personnel, and knowing, and taking constructive criticism. That’s all about togetherness.”

Ayton also emphasized the importance of focusing on helping and boosting the morale of one’s teammates. Surely, such a statement coming from the Lakers’ star is pretty significant. After all, not everyone will be ready to discuss such a sensitive topic in public. Meanwhile, as the Lakers are struggling, head coach JJ Redick stated what went wrong with the team after James’ return.

James was out of the Lakers’ team for a significant amount of time. However, once he recovered from the sciatica issue, the Lakers fell in the rankings. Speaking about the same, Redick recently explained what exactly happened after James came back.

I really believe in getting back to basics and understanding the needs of the team and each guy, creating more clarity. I know, having played that, what can seem very simple up there isn’t simple once you’re in real time and live action. It’s not going to happen in a day, but we have to get back to building our defensive fundamentals,” Redick said.

Thus, with things looking murky, it remains to be seen what decision the Lakers will take regarding the 41-year-old’s future.
