Trail Blazers Young Guard Dominates Top 10 Highest Vertical Dunks This Season
This year’s NBA Slam Dunk Contest may not be living up to expectations, but fans have been treated to some jaw-dropping dunks and impressive high-flying action throughout the season. One standout moment came from Anthony Black’s explosive dunk in Berlin, but the real fireworks have come courtesy of Shaedon Sharpe, the young guard for the Portland Trail Blazers.
With incredible vertical leaps, the Canadian star has taken dunking to a whole new level. A recent video compilation of the season’s top 10 highest vertical leaps has made waves on social media, featuring some of the league’s most thrilling dunks. And it’s no surprise that Sharpe dominates this list.
Starting off at number 10, TRe Mann wowed fans with a remarkable dunk featuring a vertical leap of 38.9 inches. Next, Trey Murphy III thrilled with a 39.2-inch vertical on a stellar alley-oop. But then came the Blazers guard Sharpe, who leaped to 39.3 inches for the 8th spot with his amazing alley-oop, and he didn’t stop there—he soared up to 39.7 inches for the 7th spot with an amazing dunk.
Gary Payton II grabbed the 6th place with a jaw-dropping single-handed dunk measuring 39.9 inches. Sharpe continued to impress, landing in the 5th and 4th positions with back-to-back dunks at 40.2 inches—one alley-oop over the Utah Jazz and another incredible dunk against the Lakers.

The 3rd spot went to Ja Morant, who soared to a vertical of 41.1 inches against the Washington Wizards. Derrick Jones Jr. held the 2nd spot with a stunning 42-inch vertical leap. But the ultimate highlight is none other than Sharpe, who claims the top spot with a mind-blowing 47.2-inch leap during an unforgettable single-hand dunk.
Trail Blazers’ Young Guard Shaedon Sharpe’s Injury Status
Shaedon Sharpe suffered a left calf strain during the Blazers’ 135-115 win against the Memphis Grizzlies and has missed four consecutive games since then. Although the Blazers have remained competitive in his absence, winning three of four games, Sharpe’s presence remains crucial to the team’s success this season. Unfortunately for Blazers fans, the latest update is not encouraging.
According to ESPN’s injury report, Sharpe, whose poster dunk sparked buzz about Russell Westbrook’s retirement, remains sidelined. The Blazers are currently facing challenges in the 2025-26 NBA season, sitting in the 9th spot in the Western Conference standings with a 27-29 record. Looking ahead, they will be facing the Denver Nuggets at Moda Center.
