Kevin Durant Fires Savage Response at Spurs Fan Booing Him Near the Tunnel
Kevin Durant has never been one to shy away from a confrontation with a hostile crowd, and Sunday night at the Frost Bank Center was no exception.
Following the Rockets’ frustrating 145–120 blowout loss to the San Antonio Spurs, Durant was making his way toward the locker room. Despite the lopsided score, the 14-time All-Star stopped to sign merchandise for fans lined up near the tunnel.
However, one Spurs supporter was there to let Durant know exactly how they felt about the Rockets’ performance. As the fan continued to boo him from just a few feet away, the “Slim Reaper” stopped signing, walked directly up to the fan, and met their “thumbs down” gesture with double thumbs down of his own.

Durant stood his ground and flexed his Rockets jersey directly in the fan’s face. After the brief, competitive staredown and the flex, the forward reached out and signed the fan’s entry card before finally turning to head into the locker room.
The 37-year-old views the back-and-forth with fans as healthy for the NBA’s growth. The two-time NBA champion finished with a team-high 23 points, but the Rockets were overwhelmed by a Spurs offense that set a franchise record with 26 three-pointers.
The loss is a huge setback for a Houston team trying to secure home-court advantage in the first round. They currently sit fourth in the Western Conference with a 39-24 record.
Kevin Durant’s Baseball Tweet Quickly Revives ‘KD Files’ Social Media Mockery
With his love-hate relationship with fans, Kevin Durant once again became a talking point on social media after a brief post about baseball unexpectedly sparked another wave of jokes from fans.
The Houston Rockets star reacted to a standout performance by Paul Skenes during World Baseball Classic action on Monday. Pitching for the United States national baseball team against the Mexico national baseball team, Skenes struck out seven and gave up just one hit across four scoreless innings in a 5–3 victory.
Durant shared his reaction to Skenes’ performance on X (formerly Twitter).
“Paul skenes is a dawg,” Durant wrote.

The post led to jokes about Durant’s recent burner account controversy. In the weeks leading up to the 2026 NBA All-Star Game, screenshots circulated online that allegedly showed Durant criticizing both current and former teammates through a private account.
The messages reportedly included comments about players like Alperen Sengun, Devin Booker, and Kyrie Irving. The situation quickly gained traction across social media, with fans dubbing it the “KD Files.” Durant later brushed off the speculation, saying he had no interest in responding to “Twitter nonsense.”
