The Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is nearing retirement, and the anticipation of his career’s final moments is palpable. Fans and analysts keep speculating when and where the 41-year-old superstar will hang up his sneakers, whether after this season or next, whether with the Lakers or a different team.

The King’s career may soon come to an end, but his children will carry on his legacy. During the recent discussion with Spectrum Sportsnet, James weighed in on his daughter Zhuri potentially playing basketball one day.

“She’s a volleyball player. Don’t get my wife mad. My wife is done with this basketball sh*t. She’s done with it. She’s a volleyball player but she’s been around the game for a while. She got good handles and a good form too but my wife ain’t playin that. Not another one. She said, that’s it,” James said.

James revealed that his wife, Savannah, is not in favour of Zhuri’s basketball career; she wants her to become a volleyball star. It seems like his son, Bryce James, would be the last member of the James family to light up the basketball court.

Last season, James made a major stir when the Lakers drafted his son, Bronny, with the 55th overall pick. While some were eager to see Bronny’s game, others started criticising him for nepotism.

As the first father-son duo to play together in the league, the achievement gave the 21-year-old guard a significant boost. However, Bronny’s performance didn’t live up to the supporters’ expectations. James Jr. has been sent to the NBA G League’s South Bay Lakers multiple times during his rookie campaign.

The Lakers faced the Golden State Warriors in their recent game at the Chase Center. Although James was not the standout performer of the night, it was still a big night for him. The 41-year-old legend scored 22 points, had 9 assists, and grabbed 7 rebounds. This performance led him to surpass the Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan in a stellar feat.

This achievement could fuel the GOAT debate between the two legends. Meanwhile, the Lakers vs. Warriors game has resulted as many expected. As the Warriors were without their star players, the Lakers took advantage and secured the 129-101 win. This win marked the end of their four-game losing streak. The purple and gold currently sits at the 6th spot in the Western Conference standings with a 35-24 record. They must keep dominating games to keep their postseason chances alive.
