The Oklahoma City Thunder came in as the defending champion this season. However, despite still being the number one on the league table, rumors about the momentum slipping away from them has surfaced recently. Thankfully for them, the records are in their favor. The last time they faced off in January 2025, Oklahoma registered a 126-101 win. As expected, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was the star of the show with 39 points. And this time too, dropping some stellar performances, Gilgeous-Alexander is looking to climb up the NBA MVP power rankings. 

Thankfully, having won their recent game 100-87 against the Dallas Mavericks, the team will look to deliver yet another strong performance. However, it will not be smooth sailing for the Thunder. Currently number 3 in the east, the Knicks are 39-22. Despite some concerns over the team relying heavily on a small lead guard, the team has done quite well. 

Moreover, the Knicks’ confidence will be further bolstered after their recent showing. Getting the better of the formidable San Antonio Spurs 114-89, the team will fancy their chances against the Thunder, too.
