Twins vs. Tigers Game 3 Starting Pitchers

Detroit rolls out Framber Valdez (LHP), and he’s legit been dominant to start 2026. Sitting at 1-0 with a 0.75 ERA and 10 strikeouts, Valdez is dealing early. His last outing was six shutout innings against the Cardinals, barely breaking a sweat. He thrives on ground balls (over 50% this season) and has historically handled Minnesota with ease, holding a 2.17 ERA against them. The Tigers are riding his hot hand to stop the slide.

On the flip side, Bailey Ober (RHP) is still searching for rhythm. He’s posted a 6.75 ERA through his first two starts, giving up three earned runs in four innings each time. That said, Ober’s got swing-and-miss upside, especially with his changeup. He’s had flashes against Detroit before (including an 11-strikeout outing in 2024), but consistency is the big question. If he settles in early, the Twins could lock this series up.
