The Minnesota Timberwolves are making waves in the playoffs, stunning everyone by knocking out the Denver Nuggets in six games, even without their star, Anthony Edwards, for the last two matches.

Now, they face an even tougher opponent in the San Antonio Spurs, who are a formidable title contender this season. But the Timberwolves are proving they can hang with the best, starting the conference semifinals with a nail-biting 104-102 victory.

Edwards, who recently recovered from a left knee hyperextension and bone bruise, came off the bench to deliver an impactful performance with 18 points, three assists, and three rebounds.

As they prepare for Game 2 against the Spurs, his presence is vital to maintaining their series momentum. However, his status is uncertain due to ongoing knee issues, making him a game-time decision. Will he elevate the Timberwolves to new heights, or will they have to rely on their depth to fend off the Spurs?

Edwards Reflects on Game 1 Crunch-Time Errors

During Game 1, Edwards had a rough time finding his rhythm, looking a bit hesitant while jumping and sprinting—probably just a conditioning thing. Meanwhile, after the game, Edwards opened up about his disappointment in himself, reflecting on the mistakes he made in crunch time.

“Ah man, I made so many mistakes at the end of the game. I’m disappointed in myself… For me, 75% of the game for me is my mind. My mind’s got to be where it needs to be and in the last 2 minutes of the game, it wasn’t. I gave up 2 offensive rebounds, turned the ball over. Yeah. I’ll be better. We’ve just got to stay locked in on the game-plan, especially myself man. I can’t give up 2 offensive rebounds to Champagnie. I may not be as athletic as I usually am, but I’ve got to be able to box out, make the small plays to win the big time games,” Edwards said.

The Timberwolves vs Spurs Game 2 of the conference semfinals will tip off at 9:30 PM EDT on 6th May at Frost Bank Center.
