Derrick Lewis Shares Moment Dana White Asked Him To Fight On White House Card

Derrick Lewis wasn’t originally on the UFC Freedom 250 card. Then, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, got involved. Now, he is set to fight against Josh Hokit on June 14. Ahead of the fight, Lewis posted the video himself, and the exchange is exactly as absurd and entertaining as it sounds.
As per the video, Dana White was sitting in the Oval Office during the UFC’s White House visit when Trump looked over at him. The US President asked a very specific question: why isn’t his favorite UFC fighter on this card? White’s response in the moment was immediate. The conversation went like:
“I was literally sitting there with the president looks at me and says: ‘Why is Derrick Lewis is not on the White House card.’ I swear to God, I said we gotta figure this out, if you want to be on the White House,” White said. To which Lewis replied, “I want to be on the White House.”

Trump personally wanted Lewis on the fight card. And he answered in the most ‘Black Beast’ way possible, a quick yes without making it complicated. The White House card already featured names like Ilia Topuria, Justin Gaethje, Alex Pereira, Sean O’Malley, and Josh Hokit.
Derrick Lewis Calls Hokit “A Clown” After Chaotic UFC Freedom 250 Presser
Soon after the UFC Freedom 250 press conference began, security removed Hokit. He already became famous for wild moments, strange comments, and awkward face-offs. At the White House event, he again created chaos and pushed things too far. Lewis watched the whole thing quietly. Then, like always, Lewis gave a short and funny reaction. “I don’t even know nothing about him, but I heard that he is just a clown,” Lewis said.

The fight is exciting even without all the drama. Lewis is one of the biggest knockout fighters in UFC heavyweight history. Hokit is still unbeaten at 9-0 and recently beat Curtis Blaydes. The press conference already ended in chaos before the fight even happened. Now, fans are waiting for June 14 on the South Lawn.
