Minnesota Lynx Head Coach Has One Word To Describe Olivia Miles’ Emphatic Surge

The Minnesota Lynx are looking like a team on a mission. With 9 wins and just 2 losses, the team is looking all set for a potential championship run. And the player responsible is the rookie star, Olivia Miles. Breaking some incredible records in the league already, the 23-year-old has left everyone stunned. But the one person who knew how capable Miles can be was none other than Cheryl Reeve.
A lot of good things are happening to the former TCU product at the moment. For example, the rookie star was recently compared with Magic Johnson. Interestingly, while opting to call for the former Notre Dame star, the Lynx head coach was absolutely sure what she was getting into. After all, one look at Miles during the scouting and Reeve knew she was a generational talent.
“What I said on draft night is that there were two players that had generational skills, I would now classify her (Miles) as a generational talent… I think it’s really easy to identify great passing because there’s not a lot of players that are great at it so instinctually so,” said Reeve.

The Lynx head coach pointed out that during the scouting, the 5-foot-10 was able to repeat her elite playmaking over and over again. This immediately convinced Reeve that she now only needs to prepare her for the biggest stage.
Meanwhile, as the star rookie is continuing on her merry way, coach Reeve has a very important take on how she plans to coach the upcoming icon.
Why Does Cheryl Reeve Not Want To Coach Olivia Miles?
The 23-year-old is currently averaging 17.2 points per game. And with Napheesa Collier yet to join the team, the Lynx can potentially become an unbeatable side. Interestingly, after looking at how the 5-foot-10 star is pacing her career, Lynx head coach does not want to mess with the momentum.
Speaking with the media, Reeve said, “I don’t coach, a lot of times she’ll say “what do you want me to look for” and I say “whatever your instincts tell you” I don’t coach her passing at all. I try to stay out of the way of that, we try to play call to feature some of things we know she is going to find. She just has an incredible incredible gift…”
