That is where imaging shockingly revealed a very large, grade 2 astrocytoma tumor growing in her left frontal lobe. McHenry underwent a grueling, eight-hour craniotomy surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital that same year.
The expert medical team successfully removed the entire golf-ball-sized growth; however, her post-operative recovery path proved incredibly difficult. McHenry battled intense trauma, severe depression, and drastic behavioral changes.
Ultimately, extensive healing, routine follow-up scans, and regular prayers helped her fully regain her physical and mental health.
