BREAKING: ESPN Fires Another Top Talent From College GameDay

ESPN has reportedly laid off a top talent who was a key member of ‘College GameDay’.

Per Outkick, the network recently told employees that senior vice president Lee Fitting no longer works with them, having been around since 1996. Fitting oversaw ‘Monday Night Football’ and ‘College GameDay’, as well as the SEC Network and coverage of the College Football Playoffs.

Sports Business Journal’s John Ourand has also confirmed the executive’s departure as it’s reported that the company’s head of events and studio production Norby Williamson will outline ESPN’s new structure for football programming in a meeting scheduled for next week.

Fitting won multiple Sports Emmy Awards while producing ‘College GameDay’ and was instrumental in the show becoming one of the most popular football programs on television. 

He welcomed betting analyst “Stanford Steve” Coughlin to the team earlier this month. 

ESPN’s NFL Coverage Will Be Very Different In 2023

The Worldwide Leader in Sports’ coverage of the NFL will look very different in the upcoming season on the back of a number of key layoffs, with the network dropping longtime analysts Steve Young and Keyshawn Johnson. Longtime ‘Monday Night Countdown’ host Suzy Kolber is also out.

This Monday, it was reported that Scott Van Pelt is set to take over hosting duties following Kolber’s exit.
