The New York Jets brought Aaron Rodgers in so they could win a championship, not in the long run, but at the first time of asking.

They’ve also completed another big move, having acquired free agent Dalvin Cook this week

But it’s no secret that the team has a hole in its offensive line and will need formidable blockers who would allow their stars to do their thing.

Enter David Bakhtiari.

The 31-year-old offensive tackle is one of Rodgers’ best friends and the QB would love nothing more than a reunion in NY following a 10-year partnership in Green Bay. The Jets have already brought in former teammates Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb. Their third-string QB, Tim Boyle, was also a colleague of Rodgers for two years. So what’s one more?

Rodgers has already accepted a $35 million pay cut so the Jets could recruit more talent and, according to an Outkick source, has mentioned Bakhtiari as a potential addition.

Former Packers QB Kurt Benkert seemed to confirm this while speaking with Kay Adams.

A trade, though, would be difficult for Green Bay as it would leave them with $19 million in dead cap and rid them of a starting left tackle, though it would still come as a $2.25 million overall cap saving.

The Jets might just be tempted to get the player in exchange for a 2024 third-round pick if it could mean a Super Bowl.
