BREAKING: Miami Dolphins Star OL Terron Armstead Carted Off With Concerning Injury
Miami Dolphins left tackle Terron Armstead might not be fit enough for the start of the regular season as he needed to be carted off from training this Thursday.
The 32-year-old was participating in a joint practice with the Houston Texans when he sustained an injury to his right leg. According to on-field reporters, the LT was careful not to put weight on the leg while being loaded into the cart.
Armstead, who was activated off the PUP list just a little over two weeks ago after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his knee during the offseason, told reporters he was “still working through that process” when the subject of possibly playing against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1 came up on Wednesday.
A four-time Pro Bowler, Armstead is widely considered to be one of the best offensive linemen in the NFL.
He signed a five-year, $75 million deal with the Dolphins as a free agent last season following a nine-year term with the New Orleans Saints.
The Fins expect to start Austin Jackson at right tackle next season. Kendall Lamm, Cedric Ogbuehi, Geron Christian, and rookie Ryan Hayes are their backup options.
