Grading All 32 NFL Teams After Week 11 Games
Week 11 saw some great bounce-back performances from teams who suffered tough losses in the previous week. Some big names went down with season-ending injuries hurting their team’s chances of making a postseason run. Don’t close the book on the season just yet, as it isn’t over by a long shot. There is still a lot more exciting football to witness and the outcomes could change with a single play.
Here are the grades for all 32 NFL Teams after the week 11 games:
Arizona Cardinals: C- (Last week C+)
The Red Birds played somewhat of a good game against the Houston Texans but came up short in a failed fourth-quarter comeback attempt at the very end of the game. Kyler Murray threw one touchdown against one interception and scored a rushing touchdown. Rondale Moore scored the Cardinal’s only receiving touchdown as the Cardinal’s defense had three interceptions against CJ Stroud. The Cardinals need to pick themselves back up after this heartbreaker of a loss to earn more wins for the remaining weeks of the season or continue losing for a higher draft pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Atlanta Falcons: Bye Week (Last week C)
The Atlanta Falcons need to find a way to keep Taylor Heinicke healthy and play better instead of relying on Desmond Ridder to command the offensive unit moving forward.
Baltimore Ravens: B+ (Last week B-)
The Ravens earned themselves a bounce-back week 11 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in a 34-20 victory. However, they lost Mark Andrews for the season with an ankle injury. Lamar Jackson threw two touchdowns against zero interceptions while Gus Edwards scored two touchdowns. Rashod Bateman and Nelson Agholor both scored touchdowns while Odell Beckham Jr. had four receptions for 116 yards. The Raven’s defense had five sacks and seven pass deflections but no interceptions on the night. Losing Mark Andrews is going to hurt but the Ravens need to move forward as they inch closer to the AFC North crown.
Buffalo Bills: B- (Last week C)
The Bills had themselves a blowout victory as they trounced the struggling New York Jets in a 32-6 smackdown. Josh Allen threw three touchdowns against one interception while James Cook rushed for 73 yards in the late afternoon. Khalil Shakir, Ty Johnson, and Cook all scored receiving touchdowns on the evening. On defense, the Bills had a fumble recovery, six sacks, and two interceptions against the Jets’ offense. It was a dominant victory for the Bills as they continue to get their season back on track and try to get into a Wildcard spot in the playoffs.
Carolina Panthers: F (Last week D)
The Panthers were outclassed and outmatched by the visiting Dallas Cowboys in their week 11 10-33 loss. Bryce Young threw one touchdown against one interception and was sacked seven times. Chubba Hubbard rushed for 57 yards and Tommy Tremble scored Carolina’s only touchdown of the day. The Defense couldn’t stop Dak Prescott as they failed to secure a sack and interception all day. It was a rough Sunday afternoon for Carolina as they put the loss behind them and look forward to the remaining weeks of the NFL season.
Chicago Bears: C- (Last week C-)
The Chicago Bears may have suffered a tough 26-31 loss on the road but they played fairly well against a tough and physical Detroit Lions team. Justin Fields threw one touchdown against no interceptions but was sacked twice while D’Onta Foreman and DJ Moore scored touchdowns for Chicago, and Cairo Santos was four for four on-field goals made on the day. The Bear’s defense had three interceptions and two sacks against Jared Goff and made things pretty intense for the Lions during the divisional battle. The Bears may be in last place in the NFC North, but when it comes to divisional games against the Lions, the Bears can muster up a strong fight until the finish.
Cincinnati Bengals: D (Last week C+)
The Cincinnati Bengals lost more than their prime-time game against the Baltimore Ravens. They also lost Joe Burrow for the season, due to a season-ending wrist injury on his right arm, which will drastically impact the Bengal’s playoff chances. Burrow did throw a touchdown pass to Joe Mixon who played a decent game on the night. Jake Browning, Burrow’s backup, threw a touchdown pass to Ja’Marr Chase who had a very quiet night in Baltimore. The defense had three sacks, two pass deflections, and no interceptions. Losing Burrow is going to sting and Browning must be prepared to start for the rest of the season.
Cleveland Browns: C (Last week B)
The Browns did not play their best game, but did not play their worst either, as they got a 13-10 victory over their division rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Dorian Thompson-Robinson got the start as Deshaun Watson is now out for the rest of the 2023 season due to shoulder surgery. Thompson-Robinson threw one interception against no touchdowns but Jerome Ford scored the only touchdown on the day for Cleveland. The Brown’s defense did have three sacks and four pass deflections but no interceptions. With Watson gone for the season, it’s going to hurt the Browns, but their defense can continue to carry them to victory for the remainder of the season. This all depends on who they face from here on out.
Dallas Cowboys: A- (Last week B+)
The Dallas Cowboys continue their dominance with a 33-10 victory over the woeful Carolina Panthers. Dak Prescott threw two touchdowns against zero interceptions while Tony Pollard scored a rushing touchdown. CeeDee Lamb and Luke Schoonmaker both scored touchdowns and on defense, DaRon Bland had an interception returned for a touchdown and the rest of the defense had seven sacks on the day against Bryce Young. It was a very dominant performance for Dallas as they demolished the Panthers with ease- setting their sights on the playoffs.
Denver Broncos: C+ (Last week C+)
The Broncos had an only okay-ish performance- chipping away at the Minnesota Vikings lead with five field goals made by Will Lutz, on the night. Russell Wilson threw the team’s only touchdown of the night at the very end of the game to Courtland Sutton which helped the Broncos win 21-20 against the Vikings. The Broncos’ rushing attack was held to 46 yards on the night while the team’s defense had two fumble recoveries, two sacks, and one interception. The Broncos are on a surprising hot streak as they are currently 5-5 as of week 11. If the Broncos continue to win games, they can potentially sneak into the playoffs and make some noise in the process.
Detroit Lions: B- (Last week B+)
The Detroit Lions barely defeated a struggling, yet scrappy, Chicago Bears team that has nothing to lose at this point of the season. Jared Goff threw two touchdowns against three interceptions while David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs both scored rushing touchdowns. Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams both scored Detroit’s receiving touchdowns on the day. On defense, the Lions had two sacks, a fumble recovery, and two pass deflections. The Lions had a decent start to the day and were able to come back against the Bears with the win, giving them their first 8-2 start since 1962.
Green Bay Packers: C+ (Last week C-)
The Packers managed to play a very close game against the visiting Los Angeles Chargers and secured a 23-20 victory in week 11. Jordan Love threw two touchdowns against zero interceptions while Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, and Christian Watson all scored touchdowns for the Pack. On defense, the Packers had two sacks, five pass deflections, and two fumble recoveries but no interceptions on the day. The Packers played fairly, but still need to step up, play better and be prepared for anything, if they want to be competitive against their next opponents coming down the pipeline.
Houston Texans: C- (Last week B)
It wasn’t the best game for the Texans but they managed to stop the Arizona Cardinals from a comeback attempt. CJ Stroud threw two touchdowns against a career-high three interceptions in the 21-16 victory. Devin Singletary scored a rushing touchdown while Tank Dell and Dalton Schultz scored the receiving touchdowns for Houston. The Texan’s defense had three sacks, seven pass deflections, and an interception on the day. The Texans played reasonably well as a team. but CJ Stroud needs to play much better in the coming weeks for Houston, if they want to compete for the AFC South crown. against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Indianapolis Colts: Bye Week (Last week C+)
The Colts may not have Anthony Richardson but with Gardner Minshew leading the way, the Colts will be just fine for a Richardson return next season, as undoubtedly, they’ll keep on improving.
Jacksonville Jaguars: B- (Last week F)
The Jaguars rebounded from their embarrassing week 10 loss, to bring in a dominant 34-14 week 11 win, over the Tennessee Titans. Trevor Lawrence threw two touchdowns against zero interceptions and scored two rushing touchdowns but was sacked once while Calvin Ridley caught two touchdown passes on the day. On defense, the Jaguars had two sacks, three pass deflections, and two fumble recoveries but did not have any interceptions. The Jaguars are back! They once again are the scary AFC South team we have been used to seeing all season. If the Jaguars continue to play like this, they can make it to the Divisional Round of the playoffs or possibly the AFC Championship game.
Kansas City Chiefs: B- (Last week Bye Week)
The Kansas City Chiefs played well at home against the visiting Philadelphia Eagles, only to fall flat in the final minutes of the game, giving Philly the win. Patrick Mahomes threw two touchdowns against one interception while Isiah Pacheco rushed for 89 yards on 19 carries. Justin Watson and Travis Kelce both scored touchdowns on the night but Marquez Valdes-Scantling dropped a potential touchdown from Mahomes when the Chiefs needed it most. On defense, the Chiefs had five sacks and an interception on the night. The Chiefs played well but came up short at the very end of the game suffering a tough loss.
Las Vegas Raiders: D (Last week C)
The Las Vegas Raider’s two-game winning streak came to an end in South Beach in their week 11, 13-20 loss to the Miami Dolphins. Aidan O’Connell had one touchdown against three interceptions while Josh Jacobs was held to 39 rushing yards, and Davante Adams scored the Raider’s only touchdown on the day. The Raiders defense managed to get one sack and one interception from Isaiah Pola-Mao. It was a rough second half for the Raiders as they didn’t make contact with the endzone at all until O’Connell threw a game-ending interception to Jalen Ramsey, dealing the losing hand to Las Vegas. The Raiders still have time to rebound in week 12 and beyond- before it’s too late.
Los Angeles Chargers: C (Last week B-)
The Chargers played a close and competitive game against the Green Bay Packers but fell short in a 20-23 loss. Justin Herbert threw two touchdowns against zero interceptions but was sacked twice while Keenan Allen and Stone Smartt both scored receiving touchdowns. The Chargers defense had three sacks against Jordan Love and five pass deflections but did not get any interceptions. Justin Herbert may have outplayed Jordan Love in the loss but the Chargers need to do more on offense to turn close losses into solid victories moving forward.
Los Angeles Rams: C+ (Last week Bye Week)
The LA Rams returned from their bye week and secured a victory against the Seattle Seahawks due to Jason Myers missing a game-winning field goal. Matthew Stafford threw one touchdown against one interception. Royce Freeman led the Rams in rushing with 73 rushing yards while Darrell Henderson Jr. scored a rushing touchdown, and Puka Nacua scored a receiving touchdown. Cooper Kupp left the game with a low-ankle sprain but isn’t very serious. On defense, the Rams had two sacks and one interception for Darion Kendrick. The Rams aren’t the best team in the league, but they secured a victory over a team that can truly compete in the NFC West.
Miami Dolphins: B- (Last week Bye Week)
The Miami Dolphins returned to action well-rested from their week 10 bye week and defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 20-13 in week 11. Tua Tagovailoa threw two touchdowns against one interception while Raheem Mostert led the Dolphin’s ground attack with 86 rushing yards, and both Tyreek Hill and Salvon Ahmed both scored touchdowns for Miami. On defense, Jalen Ramsey had two interceptions (including the game-ending interception) and Jaelan Phillips had an interception and the rest of the defense had two sacks and eight pass deflections. It was a great rebound win, after their sloppy week nine performance in Germany, against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Minnesota Vikings: C (Last week B+)
The Minnesota Vikings were very close to capturing another win with Joshua Dobbs at the helm, only to fall in the final minutes of their 20-21 loss to the Denver Broncos thanks to Russell Wilson’s heroics. Dobbs threw one touchdown against one interception and scored a rushing touchdown while Alexander Mattison had 81 rushing yards, and Josh Oliver scored a touchdown on the receiving end of things. On defense, had two sacks and no interceptions. Dobbs did everything he could to help Minnesota to victory only to throw an incomplete pass to K.J. Osborn which gave the Broncos seconds left on the clock to spike the ball and call it a night.
New England Patriots: Bye Week (Last week D)
The Patriots need to look at themselves and re-evaluate their whole team if they want to return to championship contention for next season because something needs to change very soon.
New Orleans Saints: Bye Week (Last week C-)
The Saints need to focus on keeping Derek Carr healthy while they have great defensive playmakers making great moves while keeping the Saints afloat in the NFC South.
New York Giants: C+ (Last week D-)
The Giants came back to life in their week 11 meeting with the Washington Commanders and won 31-19. Tommy DeVito threw three touchdowns against zero interceptions but was sacked nine times. Saquon Barkley rushed for 83 yards and caught two receiving touchdowns while Darius Slayton caught another receiving touchdown. On defense, Isaiah Simmons caught an interception and returned it for a 54-yard touchdown while Darnay Holmes and Nick McCloud also caught an interception each and the rest of the defense had four sacks against Sam Howell. It was a well-deserved victory for a Giants team that has gone through a lot of pain and misery so far this season. Will they start a winning streak and salvage the rest of their season? Only time will tell.
New York Jets: F (Last week D+)
The Jets were slaughtered in their week 11 6-32 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Zach Willson threw one touchdown against one interception and backup quarterback Tim Boyle threw one interception as well while the Jets rushing attack was held to 63 rushing yards all day. Breece Hall scored the only Jets touchdown in the late afternoon as the rest of the Jet’s offense was nonexistent in western New York. The defense only had one sack and one interception courtesy of Ashtyn Davis returning it for 51 yards. It was a very sloppy late afternoon for the Jets as they tried to regroup for their next matchups. Unfortunately, the main headline was a fight between Bills tackle Dion Dawkins and Jets defensive lineman Michael Clemons at the end of the game. It is a terrible look for each team which resulted in teammates from both trying to break up the fight.
Philadelphia Eagles: C+ (Last week Bye Week)
The Eagles entered Kansas City, facing up against their former head coach, Andy Reid. This has happened not once, not twice but three times in their history. However, this time, the Eagles prevailed as they defeated the Kansas City Chiefs and Andy Reid in a 21-17 victory. Jalen Hurts didn’t throw any touchdown passes, threw one interception, and was sacked five times but he did score two rushing touchdowns on the night while D’Andre Swift rushed for 76 yards on 12 carries and scored a touchdown. DeVonta Smith had a great night on the field as he caught six receptions for 99 yards. The Eagle’s defense had one sack, five pass deflections, and an interception despite the win. Winning in a tough and brutal environment like Arrowhead Stadium is all that matters at the end of the day, and getting revenge on the Chiefs and Andy Reid for Super Bowl 57.
Pittsburgh Steelers: D+ (Last week C+)
The Steelers took a bit of a step back from their week 10 performance when they took on the Cleveland Browns and lost a close one 13-10. Kenny Pickett did not throw any touchdowns or interceptions but Jaylen Warren scored the Steelers only touchdown on the day. The Steelers receiving core was held to 106 yards all game while the Steeler’s defense had one sack, six pass deflections, and one interception. The Steelers now have the opportunity to improve with a new offensive coordinator replacement for the outgoing Matt Canada. They must bounce back in week 12 or lose any relevance.
San Francisco 49ers: B+ (Last week A-)
It was another bounce-back performance for the 49ers as they cruised to a 27-14 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brock Purdy threw three touchdowns against zero interceptions but was sacked four times. Christian McCaffrey rushed for 73 yards and caught five receptions for 25 yards and scored a touchdown. Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle both scored receiving touchdowns as well. The 49er’s defense managed to sack Baker Mayfield four times and intercept one of his passes. The 49ers are back to cruising and possibly to winning the NFC West with high probability of getting a couple of playoff wins, this coming postseason.
Seattle Seahawks: D+ (Last week B-)
The Seahawks came very close to defeating their NFC West rivals, the Los Angeles Rams, in a week 11 matchup only to fall, due to a missed Jason Myers field goal. Geno Smith threw one touchdown against zero interceptions but had to exit the game briefly due to bruised triceps giving Drew Lock a chance before Smith came back in. The Seahawks’ rushing attack was held to 68 rushing yards on the day while DK Metcalf scored a receiving touchdown on the day. On defense, the Seahawks had one sack and one interception. The Seahawks were a bit of a mess. They need to rebound in practice, for the coming weeks, if they want to make it back to the playoffs.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: C- (Last week B)
After dominating the Tennessee Titans in week 10, the Buccaneers lost a tough week 11 game to the San Francisco 49ers 14-27. Baker Mayfield threw one touchdown against one interception and was sacked four times. Rachaad Whit4e scored one rushing touchdown and Miek Evans scored one receiving touchdown. On defense, the Bucs had four sacks but no interceptions on the afternoon. The Bucs have good playmakers, but didn’t do enough with their opportunities. The 49ers dominated in the first and third quarters of the game.
Tennessee Titans: D+ (Last week F)
The Tennessee Titans play was certainly improvement over their week 10 loss, but ultimately lost their week 11 matchup to the Jacksonville Jaguars 14-34. Will Levis threw two touchdowns against zero interceptions but was sacked twice while DeAndre Hopkins and Jeffrey Simmons both scored touchdowns for Tennessee. Both Derrick Henry and Chris Moore rushed for 38 yards each which is very low for running backs while the Titan’s defense had one sack, no interceptions, and no pass deflections against Trevor Lawrence. The Titans are moving in the wrong direction in the AFC South and will very likely finish in last place if they don’t pull it together and secure more wins.
Washington Commanders: D+ (Last week C)
It was a bit of a rough afternoon for the Commanders as they lost a tough 19-31 home matchup to the New York Giants. Sam Howell threw one touchdown against three interceptions (one of them being a pick-six by Isaiah Simmons) but also scored a rushing touchdown on the day. Brian Robinson Jr. rushed for 73 yards while Jahan Dotson scored the Commander’s only receiving touchdown of the day. On defense, the Commanders sacked Tommy DeVito nine times but did not secure an interception. The Commanders were swept away and embarrassed by the Giants. Even through, they continue to lose games and struggle against opponents, they managed to play fairly well on defense against a struggling Giants offense.
