Jerry Jones is being accused of rigging the result between his Dallas Cowboys and the Detroit Lions following Sunday’s controversial ending.

The Lions’ two-point conversion getting struck off has been the hottest NFL topic all week, so much so, that the league has had to send out a memo reminding everyone how eligible receiver rules work.

Of course, it’s way too late now. The Lions ended up losing after three attempts at a two-point conversion. And, while head coach Dan Campbell seemingly admitted that his player’s actions may have confused the officials, a former player reckons Jones had something to do with it.

“Jerry Jones picked up the phone and made that same call he made back in 2015 when they picked up that PI FLAG,” Golden Tate, a receiver for Detriot from 2014-2018, posted to X.

This is in reference to a 2015 playoff game between the two teams during which a blatant pass interference went uncalled and proved to be a key moment as the Lions ended up losing and missing out on postseason progression.

On a brighter note, the Cowboys had already secured a playoff appearance prior to their fixture against Dallas, having gifted their fans an NFC North win over the holiday period. They will now look to win their first postseason game since 1991.
