One of the top free agent wide receivers of 2024 seems awfully interested in signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers once the open market commences.

The Steelers snuck into the postseason with a 10-7 record despite ranking 28th in scoring (17.9 points per game), and needing to use three different quarterbacks. So it’s rather obvious which unit the Steelers must improve this offseason if they’re to re-emerge as a heavyweight in the AFC.

Speaking to Pittsburgh Sports Now, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver and pending free agent Tyler Boyd strongly indicated that he’d be interested in joining his hometown team:

“You never know. I love coach Tomlin. He’s probably one of the realest dudes in the sport’s business. Obviously, I played at Pitt, and I had a lot of run-ins with him and talked to him just about football. His personality is more like a father figure, it’s a great connection, but who knows? Even if I don’t go after this year, I could do a one-year deal at the end of my career and maybe finish up, but who knows.

Boyd has been a thorn in the side of the Steelers, with 549 receptions and five touchdowns in 14 career games. Even if he doesn’t sign with his hometown team in free agency, Steelers fans should be more than thrilled if Boyd ends up leaving the Bengals.
