Kon Knueppel’s Surprising NBA Draft Combine Results Will Raise Eyebrows After Strong Duke Debut
Kon Knueppel has been heavily criticized for his status as a top 10 draft pick. And one of the biggest reasons for this was his limited athleticism. What went against him even more was the fact that Knueppel failed to appear for the pre-draft testing last month. While he did suffer an ankle injury as justification, but it did very little to keep the critics shut. However, now, the Duke forward did take the test. And the numbers are enough to turn heads.
In a recently released report from the NBA, Knueppel got a 31.5 inch standing vertical leap. Reaching such an astounding height made him rank 12th among the 73 athletes. In fact, Knueppel’s score made him stand ahead of names like Dylan Harper, Cooper Flagg, Ace Bailey and others. And that was not all.

A higher standing vertical jump (31.5 inches) than Harper (30.5), Richardson (30.5), and Edgecombe (30.0)
A better max vert (36.5 inches) than Flagg (35.5) and Bailey (34.5)

The young gun also secured a 36.5 inch max vertical leap, earning him a 20th rank. His shuttle run time of 2.92 seconds is also pretty impressive. Considering the fact that it ties Knueppel with none other than Cooper Flagg. Meanwhile, with such a stunning performance in the tests, Knueppel is already making a strong case for his induction into a major NBA side.
Jonathan Givony Suggests Kon Knueppel To San Antonio Spurs

Kon Knueppel is not the first choice for the San Antonio Spurs. As per the general consensus, they are more inclined towards getting the services of Dylan Harper. However, in a recent report from ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, Harper might pose a problem. With De’Aaron Fox and Stephon Castle already in the Spurs’ squad, Harper coming in might cause a minute crunch.

Thus, according to Givony, Kon Knueppel will fit the bill perfectly. Based on need, the Spurs might have opted to target Knueppel. However, with all the rumors coming in, it remains to be seen what happens in the future.
