The Los Angeles Lakers will enter the NBA Summer League at the California Classic on Saturday. They secured two young stars, Dalton Knecht and Bronny James, who are set to play again after experiencing last season. In the league, they are expected to show more confidence and energy on the court.

Knecht had a steady season last year. In 66 games, including 15 starts, the rookie averaged 9.7 points and 3.0 rebounds. He shot 46% from the field and 36.8% from three. However, he hit his stride in March and posted 14.4 points per game, shooting over 44% from deep.

As LeBron James and Rui Hachimura both returned from injuries, the Lakers are gearing up with the roster to fight in the summer league. In the meantime, the young forward was seen practicing for the summer league on Wednesday. This is highly indicating that Knecht will make his presence for tonight’s matchup.

Knecht is fully available and healthy. His current absence is a management decision. Now, it’s time to wait for the young star to return to the court. And he will surely come back soon, as the team needs his shooting and energy to remain competitive.

Knecht enters the Summer league with confidence and growth. Last season, he was almost traded to the Charlotte Hornets, but the deal was canceled. He stayed calm and kept working hard.

“Yeah, people are going to close out to me, so just go out and attack the rim, shoot some from the midrange or a floater, and get to the rim,” Knecht said. He is now focusing on adding more to his games to drive to the basket and help his teammates score.

With a clear goal, Knecht is ready to take the next step in the league. This is a tough break for him now, but when he returns, he will prove to the league that he is more than just a shooter.
