No athlete is safe when it comes to fake comments being spread by trolls on Charlie Kirk.

Last week, conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot and killed at a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University.

The Turning Point USA founder was shot in the neck, as millions have since seen blood flowing from his body while he was having a debate with a student. The alleged shooter was arrested and identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson.

Since then, a bunch of athletes have been inundated with fake quotes about them speaking out about his death.

Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud had this happen when a post stated he wanted the league to observe a moment of silence for Charlie Kirk.

It included this fake quote from the Ohio State product: “It’s heartbreaking to see America lose such an important voice. My deepest condolences to the family and loved ones. This is not only their loss, but a reminder of the need for us to come together, respect each other, and stand up for the values we share in this country.”

Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson was also in that same situation, as a fake post falsely stated he promised to pay all expenses for Kirk’s children.

Now, George Kittle is up next.

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle and his wife Claire are not happy this week and are setting the record straight after a fake quote about Kirk attributed to the star received backlash.

Posts circulating on social media claimed George criticized the tributes at NFL games to the right-wing commentator.

The posts claimed that George said he’s “seen politics being dragged into’ football ‘far too often,” and while “Charlie Kirk may matter to some,” he has “no place in the NFL.”

None of this was true.

George brought attention to it on his Instagram stories.

“Couple of things…this is a fake quote. I hope most of you realize that,” the 49ers tight end said while noting that the account sharing the quote “only posts fake news/reports, please ignore them.”

“The wild messages I’m receiving from people made me have to address it,” he added.

Claire also jumped in, writing, “This is clearly a fake quote. How sick is the world that someone actually took the time to write and post this, and about George of all people.

“What’s even more sickening is the fact that George had to address this on social media because of the hate coming in. Leave us alone & goodnight.”

Claire was so disturbed that she added a second message.

“Don’t attack people based on the latest headline. People suck. Be better,” she said.
