The heavyweight belt is finally on the line at UFC 321, and it’s a big one. Champion Tom Aspinall is preparing for his first title defence against Ciryl Gane, who has the backing of fans all across France. While there’s still some time before fight night, Alex Pereira already weighed in with his thoughts on the matchup. According to ‘Poatan,’ Gane’s going to be a totally different kind of problem for Aspinall.

Pereira pointed out that while Aspinall’s gone up against his fair share of aggressive fighters, Gane’s a completely different animal. ‘Poatan’ thinks that style could really get under Aspinall’s skin early on, especially if he’s struggling to land anything clean in those first couple of rounds. In his view, Aspinall hasn’t really dealt with someone like this before, which makes the whole fight that much more intriguing.

“Tom has fought a lot of aggressive guys but Ciryl is a guy who is going to show him a lot of movement. It might frustrate Tom. 1st, 2nd, 3rd round he might not find Gane so I think it’s a different fight,” he said.

Not only Alex Pereira, but many fighters feel that it’s possible for Ciryl Gane to fulfil his dream of becoming the first UFC champion for France, as he embarks on his third opportunity for a title.
