Michael Porter Jr. seems to be clinching all the spotlight at the moment. In his recent podcast appearance, Porter Jr. claimed to have dominated WNBA stars when he was in his eighth grade. Soon after this, the Brooklyn Nets gave Porter Jr. unexpected guidelines ahead of his podcast appearances. 

And now, continuing his string of surprises, the Nets star got shouted at by his own teammate. The reason? Well, the 27-year-old apparently stole Nic Claxton’s rebound!

The incident took place as the Brooklyn Nets geared up to face the Boston Celtics in the Emirates NBA Cup game. During the first quarter, Anfernee Simons tried to score from the 3-point range. Unfortunately, while he missed, the rebound was up for grabs. 

And this is where things got competitive between Porter Jr. and Claxton. With both the players trying to get hold of the ball, it was the 27-year-old who outmuscled his own teammate. 

In a hilarious moment caught on the mic, Claxton could be heard shouting, “I got it! I got it! Goddamn! Goddamn, Mike!”

Surely, this moment had the fans splitting up as Claxton looked quite shocked with Porter Jr.’s antics. Thankfully, the tussle between the two teammates did not hurt the Nets as they beat the Celtics 113-105 to advance further. Meanwhile, this is not the only surprising moment that Porter Jr. has pulled off. Porter Jr. recently also cleared the air following his surprising longevity comments.

The Brooklyn Nets star had quite a tough past couple of years. Struggling with injuries more often than not, the 27-year-old pointed out how he wanted to take his NBA career one year at a time. And that’s not all, he also put a question mark on his own longevity, surprising fans to speculate about his future in the league. 

However, in a recent interview with Eric Slater from ClutchPoints, Porter Jr. cleared the air saying, “Basketball is my passion. I want to play as long as I can… in the back of my mind, obviously, I wanna play as long as my body allows me to. I’ve been through a lot of injuries, but the last few years I’ve been, like you said, pretty much like an Iron Man.”
